"Google continues
to pummel Yahoo -
and everyone else - in
the search game".
Today
is Friday, April 20th, 2007. I just read
the above quote right from the front
page of Investor's Business Daily. The
headline of today's top story read...
A Google
Ho-Hum: First-Quarter Profit Whips Expectations
Of course
we are not surprised one bit. In my opinion
(and I'm not alone on this) Google is
THE best run company in America. As you
will see in just a moment, they are also
the best company to work for. But before
we go there... let me share a couple
of more things from this article. According
to IBD columist, Pete Barlas..."Google,
which gets nearly all of its revenue
from ads it posts on its own and partner
Web sites, revenue rose 63%".
Pete further
reports, "More advertisors are pushing
more of there ad dollars in the direction
of paid search because they are getting
a better conversion and a more positive
return on investment than anywhere else".
I'm not surprised!
For four years, we have been
one of those companies making money
advertising on Google. You
should know that we did not start out
as a company
that
primarily
helps
businesses implement and improve
their Google Marketing. In fact, we
were raving Google Fanatics way
before Google became a verb.
As a direct marketing company and
consulting firm, back around the later
part of 2003, we found that most of our
business (and more importantly
our PROFIT) was coming from one source...Google.
What has let Google "Crush" their competitors
in such a highly competitive area? One
word. Intention! (The reason they choose
to name the company Google is because
they wanted to build something mammoth).
And they have done it.
And it looks like we
are not the only ones... Just look at this magazine cover.
Out of all the companies in America
to
work
for (and there are some fantastic ones
out there) Google is #1. This according
to Fortune Magazine anyway. That’s
right, they named Google as the best
company to work for.
No wonder. It’s been no secret
that part of the Google Genius has
been to attract the “best of
bread” when it comes to hiring
talent.
On September 2, 2005, a news
story broke
about how Microsoft’s CEO Steve
Ballmer couldn’t take losing
any more of his key employees to Google.
According
to the story, after one of his engineers
was putting in his notice to resign
to go to another company, Balmer said, “Just
tell me it’s not Google!” and
the second his suspicion was confirmed,
he got so mad he picked up a chair
and flung it into a table. Now we all have proven ways to capitalize
on Google’s proven strategy.
And believe me, it just keeps getting
better and better.
No one has the commitment and integrity
that Google has.
In my opinion, it’s been a
huge reason to their (almost instant
domination). It has already guaranteed
them long-term
success in a very short amount of time.
Google understands it MUST
be about the user’s experience.
So it’s
always about relevancy to the user,
who is ultimately in control. Google
delivers super targeted traffic by
staying committed to super relevant
search results. That gives you an opportunity
to profit from the 200 million plus
searches taking place every day.
There's
a new sheriff in town, and his name
is Google.
